The Queen of DENIAL!
Well, here it is. May 22nd. Just a few weeks away from Aralyn's June 5th birthday. What have I done to plan. Well, let's see....she has a appointment to get her pictures taken, and ....and....

Well, so what! right? Well, I don't have her cake planned, or the things I need to make it bought. I don't have a present for her...not even a good idea of what I want to get her. I don't have anything done for it. When asked how old she is I say "11 months" and silently add..."and holding". With Aidan and Alora I was much more on top of things. I had the cake planned and ready to be made and presents bought and a party planned and all that birthday stuff. This time, we aren't doing a "party" with tons of friends and family as it is a really busy time of year and most of my family won't beable to make it for other obligations, so I just thought it would be best to have a small intimate gathering and do some cupcakes at playgroup. But here we are just a few weeks away and I haven't even planned that much!

If you don't have the party and you don't have a present, then they really haven't turned one, right? RIGHT?

Glimpses of the fun!

We decorated a box for Jared and Jenny with finger paints. Alora and Aidan weren't nearly this dirty, but they weren't nearly as cute either! LOL Thanks to Crayola for washable paints!

]There was a great time had by all at the zoo! Here is Jared taking a picture, and Jenny smiling at the girls in the stroller! We were on the tram on the way to the gardens! Too bad that the fountains seemed to be on the fritz and weren't flowing. It was lovely anyway!

Here are Aidan and Jared running across the bridge! Aidan just loved Jared, and Jared did a wonderful job making Aidan feel special and spending some special time with him!

Here are the 3 kids on top of a preying mantis. In the full shot, you can see Adam holding Aralyn making sure that she won't fall off...I find it humorous! hehehehehe

Here is Alora in the gardens looking at some flowers. Adam caught a great moment!

"I'm the king of the world!"

What a great couple!

What wonderful friends we have!
A few weeks ago we had big plans. We were going to have a great big sleepover/camp out with some friends of ours. It was going to be a great weekend. We had a wedding to attend on the Saturday afternoon and then they were going to come home with us. Guys outside, tent sleeping and all those boy things. Girls inside to have a sleepover and do girly things!

Well, the weather man said it was going to rain, so to make sure that my friend and I didn't have two 5 year old boys with terribly broken hearts, we decided to let them have a 2 night sleepover from Thursday until the wedding on Saturday. The boys had a wonderful time and just were so fun. They played and laughed and had the best time! They are good friends and best buddies and just so funny to see playing!

Well, come Saturday, the weather was great! No rain, not too hot or cool and just lovely. So, we went ahead with our campout/sleepover. The whole family came on out to the house and we had a great time! The kids had a blast, Adam and the other dad included. They brought a 4-wheeler and everyone had fun roaming the 11 acres we have here. It was so fun to spend that time with them and then have worship at our small congregation with them. It was a weekend of fun and love and laughs and friendship and you just can't get any better than that!

It is so great to have such wonderful friends! We are truly blessed! Thank you God!

WOW!
So much has happened and I haven't had the time or opportunity to blog about it!

A week ago Adam and I were reunited with one of his college buddies, Jared. One of those people that I know God wanted him to meet and make a part of his/our lives. His wife, Jenny, is one of those people. You know the type...

She's the kind you couldn't pick to be any better. It's like you go in the friend store and you get to choose. You pick some of the same traits that you have, so you will have things to converse about and share. You then pick her to have some traits that you wish you had, or that you would like to refine. The poise and the posture and the things that you work and strive to become. This is good in a friend, as it gives you something to aim for and someone in whom to see it manifested so that you know why you would like to be that way, or have that trait. You see the faults you have in a new light...not a harsh one, but one that helps you to redefine who and what you want to be, and see a better way to get there.

Jenny is one of those people that I know will be a life-long friend. I have spent many times in prayer thanking God for Jared and Jenny and for allowing Adam and my life to entwine with their's and to give us other opportunities to spend time together.

When they left, it was one of those bittersweet times, glad that they were off on to the next adventure, off to see what blessings God has in store for them on the next road, in the next town, with the next family, in the next home, and yet sad that our short time couldn't be longer, that the stories couldn't have lasted longer, sad that the next adventure isn't ours to share with them.

Jared and Jenny, may the Lord watch over you and guide you on to other blessings that he has in store for you! You are both wonderful and we love you! There are great things in store for you...many lives that you will bless in your love for God! I am glad that God has brought you both into our lives! If not here in this faraway country, then when we get Home, we will have forever with you!
