It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Well, at least the busiest!

I can't believe how busy we have been with one thing and another. We have had church parties and dinner parties and a Santa party for the kids and all sorts of get togethers. We have had a new boy come since Thanksgiving and it seems that the house next door and the other house have gotten a new girl every week, and sometimes 2! It is really crazy with trying to remember who is who and where they all live!

Aidan, Alora, and Aralyn are all really excited about Christmas. Aidan told me the other day that this is his favorite time of the year. Then added that he didn't just like it cause he got gifts, but because we get to celebrate that Jesus was born! He is so sincere when he talks about "baby Jesus" and all three of them have arranged and re-arranged our 2 nativities. Aralyn of course has to know who everyone is and what their names are and where they go.

A week or so ago we got a gift card to go to the movies....all of us. So, we talked and talked about when we could go that everyone would be here and we didn't have anything else planned. It so happened that it was last Sunday that worked out. We decided to take in a matinee so that we might get another trip in with the gift card...or at least mostly pay for 2 trips.

Usually on Sundays we eat and then have quiet time. Most of the boys like a nap now and then and we use the time to rest or do housework or laundry. So, we forewent our quiet time to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, since that was the house vote. (Not my vote at all.) So we show up at the theatre and the show we needed to go to in order to make it to the youth group party, was sold out. The boys were upset. The only other thing playing that started at the right time and wasn't rated R was Enchanted (I had seen previews for it, but had forgotten that it was a fairy tale.) The sign at the ticket booth had a small picture and a very odd picture from the movie. So, I just told them the name of the movie and told them that we could go to that one or go home to have an hour or so of quiet time before the party. Everyone voted to see the movie, with the promise that we would try to make it to see Alvin another time. I can hardly believe I got teenage boys to watch that movie, and most of them actually liked it!

I guess I will have to post some pictures soon! I know the kids are getting bigger, as their clothing is seeming smaller and smaller and everyone is moving up a size lately. Aralyn is probably the one that I notice getting bigger the most, her vocabulary and her actions are much more obvious.

Merry Christmas, everybody! And a happy new year, if I don't get around to blogging again before then.

Aralyn (to her baby doll): No, no, we don't play with salt and pepper, no, no.

While decorating the Christmas tree-
Aidan: Look, when you hang these four balls on the same branch they are like a mom and dad hugging their kids.

Aidan: This is my very favorite time of year...I like Halloween, too. But I like this time of year the very best.

While holding her "baby's first Christmas ornament"

Alora: Look, this is my very special ornament from when I was a very little baby. It is so very special we must be so careful with it.
